Il termine greco kósmos in origine indicava “ordine”, passò poi a significare “mondo” soprattutto a opera dei Pitagorici, che riscontravano nella realtà l’impronta del numero e dell’armonia, e la percepivano conseguentemente come un tutto strutturato. Nella più recente accezione, l’espressione portava con sé il significato di bellezza. Nel senso di disposizione, assetto della natura, il termine è attestato per la prima volta in Eraclito. Tuttavia sarà poi la filosofia di Anassagora, con l’introduzione del Nous, intelligenza divina, a rafforzare il valore corrente del termine, grazie all’idea di un disegno intelligente nella natura. Per i Greci, il Bello esprime armonia, tò kalón è una proprietà della natura, e se un oggetto artistico è bello lo è proprio perché imita la natura in un modo così perfetto da far sì che esso perda ogni carattere di artificialità. La bellezza è nell’Universo e ci permette di coglierne l’origine: non è un semplice aspetto delle cose che ci circondano, ma la manifestazione della struttura e dell’equilibrio che fanno del mondo un tutto ordinato, ovvero un cosmo. 

A queste premesse filosofiche aderisce la ricerca artistica di Roberto Ghezzi. Un senso di appartenenza atavico all’ecosistema, una circolarità in cui l’elemento umano è artefice del manufatto ma complice dell’ambiente in cui opera, un’equilibrata e realistica simbiosi fra tutti gli elementi che costituiscono l’ambiente in cui esplora, ricerca e seleziona: questo è ciò che la sua opera raccoglie in sé, una conoscenza del sistema natura e allo stesso tempo una ricerca interiore con cui l’uomo – artista si confronta ogni giorno. Fiumi, laghi, acqua in tutte le sue forme, ma anche aria, e nelle sue ultime ricerche soprattutto terra, diventano la tavolozza da cui Ghezzi preleva le sue tinte, il tempo della natura diventa quello della creazione, la contemplazione del susseguirsi del ciclo vitale quotidiana ispirazione. 

Parte del ricavato della vendita delle opere sarà devoluto a Marevivo per finanziare progetti di pulizia delle acque marine.

The Greek term kósmos originally meant order, then went on to mean world especially by the Pythagoreans, who found the imprint of number and harmony in reality, and consequently perceived it as a structured whole. In the most recent sense, the expression carried with it the meaning of beauty. In the sense of disposition, arrangement of nature, the term is attested for the first time in Heraclitus. However, it will then be the philosophy of Anaxagoras, with the introduction of Nous, divine intelligence, to reinforce the current value of the term, thanks to the idea of an intelligent design in nature. For the Greeks, Beauty expresses harmony, tò kalón is a property of nature, and if an artistic object is beautiful it is precisely because it imitates nature in such a perfect way that it loses any character of artificiality. Beauty is in the Universe and allows us to grasp its origin: it is not a simple aspect of the things that surround us, but the manifestation of the structure and balance that make the world an ordered whole, or a cosmos.

Ghezzi’s artistic research adheres to these philosophical premises. An atavistic sense of belonging to the ecosystem, a circularity in which the human element is the creator of the artifact but complicit in the environment in which it operates, a balanced and realistic symbiosis between all the elements that make up the environment where the artist explores, researches and selects: this is what his work collects in itself, a knowledge of the nature system and at the same time an interior research with which the man – artist interfaces every day. Rivers, lakes, water in all its forms, but also air and, in his latest researches, above all earth, become the palette from which Ghezzi takes his colors, the time of nature becomes that of creation, the contemplation of the succession of the life cycle daily inspiration.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be donated to Marevivo to finance marine water cleaning projects.
